Wimberley Lion's Scholarship Program
Purpose and Objective of the Program
The program aims to offer scholarships to Wimberley graduating high school seniors who attend Wimberley High School, accredited charter schools, or home school programs. Proof of residency may be required for certain programs. This is a scholarship program. Therefore, financial aid is not an element of the selection criteria. Please see the selection criteria outlined below.
Academic Scholarship Program
Four-year scholarship, in the amount of $1000 per semester, renewable for eight (8) semesters (total value of the scholarship is $8000), at Colleges and Universities for students pursuing a conventional college education. Students must enroll in at least 12 hours each semester and maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
Technical Scholarship Program
Two-year scholarships, in the amount of $1000 per semester, renewable for four (4) semesters (total value of the scholarship is $4000), are offered to students pursuing an accredited program at a two-year college or technical school. Students must enroll in at least 12 hours each semester and maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
Criteria
Students will be selected for interviews based on the following criteria:

Class rank and Grade point Average

SAT and/or ACT Test Scores.

School activities, including athletics and other extracurricular activities.

Community and community service activities including participating in Market Days.
During the interview, other criteria are applied to arrive at a final selection.
APPLICANTS
Scholarship season begins January 20, 2025. Application packets are due Friday, March 15, 2025 by 4 pm.
