Amy Cartee-Cox, Lion & Boot Artist!

The Lions had a proud day Friday, October 4, 2024 when Wimberley Arts and Cultural

Alliance (Wimberley Arts) unveiled the newest Bootiful Boot. AStudioZ’s owners and

Past Lions Presidents Russell Cox and Amy Cartee-Cox and the Wimberley Lions Club

sponsored the boot commission. Many people may not know that among all Amy’s

talents is that she is an accomplished artist.

Past-President Amy Cartee-Cox demonstrated her artistic talent by painting a huge lion

with iconic features of the Hill Country, including Market Days booths. The 6’ boot

proudly reigns and roars across from Market Days gate 2 on the Lions field adjacent to

FM 2325. He sits on a pedestal created and designed by Bobby Burris and by Jerry

Sanchez, respectively.

Amy said, “It’ll be nice to get the boot out of my dining room and out in the wild where

he deserves to rule. I appreciate the support my friends and the Lions Club

gave me.”

Many Lions and community members celebrated and congratulated Lion Amy Cartee-

Cox and AStudioZ. Wimberley Lions Club’s President Doug McLean said, “Wimberley

Lions are indebted to the generosity of Amy and Russell for creating this unique

opportunity for Wimberley’s tourism. We appreciate all that Amy has done for us.”
